Jargon Reader® for Windows™ (Jargon ReaderX™)
Jargon Reader® for Windows™ combines native Win32 performance with
automatic deployment, and offers seamless and automatic installation
using a standard web browser. The small size of the deployment package (200K)
makes it the fastest and easiest deploying client available.
Like Jargon Reader for Java, Jargon Reader
for Windows works with the client's web browser to render applications
defined in XML (similar to HTML, but with extended features that overcome
its limitations).
This image shows the standard Windows look and feel that
Jargon Reader for Windows provides.
Jargon Software's powerful XML based architecture
- Manages visual components (windows, tables, trees, buttons, radio buttons, checkboxes,
menus, images, labels, text fields, list boxes, combo boxes, and many others).
- Executes user interface events by dispatching client or host procedures
with conditional (if/then/else) data-dependent logic.
- Provides efficient, two-way exchange of data and instruction objects with
host systems.
Features
- Renders XML-based applications with the native Windows "Look and Feel".
- Smallest footprint of any comparable GUI client.
- Rapid self-deployment at any Internet access speed.
- Written with high performance ActiveX technology.
Benefits
- Launch applications directly from your desktop or from Netscape Navigator
4.0 and above or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 and above.
- Run high performance, thin client applications at dial-up speeds on the Internet.
- XML structure keeps your application on a clean upgrade path to emerging technologies.
- Avoid costly software distribution, installation and upgrade expenses.
You can deploy the same desktop applications (developed with Jargon Writer) via
either Jargon Reader for Java or Jargon Reader for Windows. This shows the
power and flexibility of Jargon Software's patent-pending XML architecture.
