Jargon Replicator™ Application Migration Tool for Progress
Jargon Replicator is a companion product to Jargon Writer that can
jump-start your development efforts. By analyzing Progress database
schemas and Progress 4GL screen frame definitions, Jargon Replicator
generates a variety of "first-cut" client GUI programs.
These programs can be run immediately without any changes, or you can enhance them first by using Jargon Writer to get the particular look and feel that is desired. For example, you could add images, combo boxes, radio buttons and other GUI "widgets" to improve the look and feel of your application. Jargon Replicator can be run in any Progress database environment with a Unix or NT host. The developer simply selects a few options, "pushes the button", and within seconds, both host source code and client XML code are automatically generated for a fully functioning maintenance, inquiry or browse. Jargon Replicator can also analyze existing Progress 4GL programs and generate "look-alike" GUI screens. Developers can quickly attach these objects to menus and buttons within an application framework.
