Store/Forward Sports2000 Warehouse Demo

This application was our very first attempt to show our ability to offer an online orientation in a wireless handheld environment while also allowing sophisticated operations to occur should the device be offline. The need for the ability to operate offline is needed since wireless handheld coverage can be spotty, or not permitted.

This application shows Inventory transactions in an online warehouse environment, such as an 802.11b local wireless network, as well as the ability to "batch them up" for later processing. It uses the inventory tables from the Progress Sports2000 demo database.

1. A new inventory transaction template is filled in. The information is sent to the back office system in real time, via the "Submit" button.

2. If the "Local Mode" box is checked, the transactions are stored locally on the PDA and NOT transmitted to the back office.

3. The user can review and modify all saved inventory transactions.

4.When back online, the user can "Submit All" saved transaction as a batch to the back office database.

5. Confirmation that all saved transactions have been processed on the host. The local transactions are deleted.
