6. Run application in online or local mode as coverage permits

6.1 Online mode provides real-time database access and updates.
When wireless network connectivity is reliable, data access and data entry can be done with immediate communications with remote host procedures that provide real time database interaction.

For example, customer sales call notes can be entered and saved directly into the central database, without the need to later remember to do a separate synchronization step.

6.2 Local mode stores entered transactions for later submission to server.
When wireless network connectivity is not available or is unreliable, selected information can be downloaded in advance when online access is available. Then, the user simply clicks a "Local Mode" button and all entered transactions will be saved in the local WPDA memory (in a table of transactions).

Later, when connectivity is available, the stored transactions in the table will be submitted online to the remote host. Any transaction that has editing errors found by the remote host will be displayed to the user in the same window where the transaction was originally entered, so it can be corrected and resubmitted.
