New Version 3 Development Utilities

The latest version of the V3 utility apps contain many new features including:
  • Full-screen versions of RDU3, odbcutil, dbutil and status apps for use on a PC in ReaderWIN

  • New middleware status test app (status.xml) to check the status of WebSpeed, AppServer, Tunnel Broker, ASP pages in IIS, or other middleware.

  • Ability to export data from an Oracle database in a format that can later be reloaded, providing "dump and reload" capability as well as the ability to copy data from one database to another.

  • New "SQL Inquiry" feature to run SQL SELECT statements in odbcutil and view or export the results, in various formats (For Progress folks, this is like being able to do a "for each" in the editor).

  • More defaults stored in ".INI" files to save typing of default URLs, directory names, etc.
For details, see the latest V3 Documentation.

To obtain a copy of the xml and 4GL source files, contact Jargon tech support.

What's New In Version 2

The upcoming release of build 89 of Jargon ReaderX (currently in beta testing) will  include these fixes:
  • Changes to dispose methods and logic to correct memory crashes, especially in WinXP SP2.
For complete details, see the Version 2 release notes for Jargon ReaderX.
