  Mobile Hardware Guide

Jargon Software solutions run on any version of MS Windows including win95, win98, win2K, winXP, winVista as well as all MS Windows mobile platforms including winCE, Pocket PC, win mobile 2003, win mobile 5, and win mobile 6.

Since Jargon mobile technology is a true thin client, most all hardware devices running the above operating systems can be utilized.

As a practical guideline to achieve good performance, the following hardware specifications ought to be considered:

  • For handheld devices:  win mobile 5 or win mobile 6, 240X320 screen, 256 MB ROM, 64 MB RAM, 400 MHz processor (or greater)
  • For notebooks, laptops, and netbooks: winXP or winVista, 256 MB RAM, any size hard disk.

Additional capabilities may be desired such as:

  • Bluetooth - useful for wireless remote printers and bar code scanners.
  • wi-fi - useful to make Internet connections from hotspots
  • SD card slot - good for both expansion memory and backup capabilities.
