QODBC How to Connect to QuickBooks (QB) for the First Time

The following two links are useful in initially configuring the QODBC DSN:
How to Connect to QB for the first time
Accessing QuickBooks data remotely via QODBC using RDS Server and the RDS Client
There may be issues with RDS Server and win7 environments. Intuit supplies RDS but does not support it.
To work around this, QODBC offers an older connector, called IBiz Integrator, which does what RDS does. RDS was a replacement to the older DCOM method for connecting to QB, which is NOT advised to try. FlexQuarters is working to write a new version of the IBiz Integrator for later release with it's products and is meant to replace the RDS.
So, if there are problems with getting RDS to work, consider replacing it with the IBiz Integrator. Please see How to Setup QODBC Remote using Remote Connector
In addition, here are a few notes of my own:

1. Be sure to check turn on remote connector tab and Simulate Transaction Support for SQL Server because the IBiz Integrator does not support SQL transactions.

2. Sample configuration tab in QODBC driver properties. Note UN and PW are QB admin credentials.

If reinstalling, be sure to delete the old QODBC DCOM object before the re-install. Configure per usual after the re-installation.
